The Sullivan Center for Breast Health at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington DC has emerged as a national model in providing expert care using the most minimally invasive treatments possible. The Sullivan Center for Breast Health has been granted a three-year/full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons.

Accreditation by the NAPBC is only given to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breastcare and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance. The Sullivan Center achievement of NAPBC accreditation demonstrates a firm commitment to offer its patients every significant advantage in their battle against breast disease.

Only a comprehensive breast health center such as Sibley's organizes multidisciplinary services into a fully integrated system of care. Breast imaging, breast cancer and breast reconstruction surgery, radiation oncology, physical therapy and other key teams collaborate closely to ensure the well-being of each patient. Our National Consortium of Breast Centers certified CBPN Nurse Navigator is available to guide patients through what might be an unfamiliar and often anxiety producing process.

Mammograms, Breast Healthcare and Breast Cancer Treatment

The level of breast healthcare and breast cancer treatment at Sibley's Sullivan Center for Breast Health exceeds that of any university hospital in the region. The multidisciplinary team of breast specialists provide services including mammography, breast surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, medical oncology and breast radiology. These specialists take an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to care and treatment that benefits the patient. Also included as needed are psychosocial support, oncology nursing, genetic counseling, nutrition counseling, community outreach and more. Our dedicated breast imagers personally perform all ultrasound studies at the Sullivan Center.
