The purpose of the ASHP-Accredited Sibley Pharmacy Residency Program is to develop pharmacists who are valued members of the healthcare team, achieving optimal drug therapy outcomes through the application of their knowledge.
The pharmacy residency offers a variety of core rotations (internal medicine, critical care, oncology, informatics, drug information, central pharmacy practice, management, emergency medicine & geriatrics), longitudinal experiences (anticoagulation service, research, central operations & management), and elective rotations. The program provides flexibility for the residents to focus on individual interests and career goals. Each rotation is typically four to six weeks long.
The resident gains skills to become a confident, caring, and well-rounded direct patient care provider. Residents will also participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee activities, Medication Safety Committee activities, medication use evaluations, and provide education to pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and patients.
