If you are committed to becoming a confident, caring and well-rounded direct patient care pharmacist, then we invite you to explore the PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency Program at Sibley Memorial Hospital. Through this 12-month program, you will gain knowledge and skills that will help you to achieve optimal drug therapies and evolve into a valued member of our healthcare team.
Our comprehensive residency program offers:
- Core rotations: Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Hematology/Oncology, Informatics, Drug Information, Central Operations, Management, Geriatrics
- Longitudinal experiences: Ambulatory Care, Research, Central Operations, Management
Each rotation is four to six weeks long. The program provides flexibility for the resident to focus on individual interests and career goals.
Residents will also participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee activities and medication use evaluations, as well as provide education to pharmacists, nurses, physicians and patients. Developing a major project suitable for publication is part of our program requirements.
Full benefits include health and dental coverage, accrual of paid time off/paid days leave and a travel allowance for the ASHP Midyear and selected meetings related to your pharmacy practice.
