Johns Hopkins Medicine Epic Community Division
The Epic Community Division initiative will include modules related to the ambulatory electronic medical record, registration and scheduling, patient portal, inpatient clinical, emergency services, ancillary systems and revenue cycle applications. Epic Community Division will be implemented at Howard County General Hospital (HCGH) and Sibley Memorial Hospital (Sibley), members of Johns Hopkins Medicine’s community hospitals.
Epic Community Division team members will be an essential part of ensuring the success of HCGH and Sibley’s transition into the Epic system. In preparation, team members will undergo Epic Certification, a rigorous and professionally rewarding achievement that will help advance careers and gain valuable leadership experiences. Those who complete the training and become certified will be required to provide two years of service payback that will begin upon their receipt of certification.
The current staff managing existing systems will be highly involved in the Epic implementation at HCGH and Sibley, and 85 additional staff members are needed for this initiative. Current Johns Hopkins Medicine employees, as well as external candidates, are strongly encouraged to apply for these Epic positions.
Epic Community Division interviews are scheduled to occur soon, and all offers will be extended by mid-October. Orientation for new employees will occur November 21st and 22nd, and the training program at the Epic headquarters in Verona, WI will start on November 28th.
