Discover exactly what it takes to put a show onstage at the Shakespeare Theatre Company. Geared towards older adults, this eight-week seminar will delve into the methods and ideas behind producing Shakespeare, centered on a production in the STC season. The Salon will be led by STC Education Staff, with possible appearances by special guests and glimpses behind the scenes.

This spring, the Salon will focus on the Henry IV, Parts 1 and 2 repertory productions.

Topics will include:

·         Historical and cultural context

·         Major themes of Henry IV, including parent-child relationships, leadership, aging and sickness, loyalty and betrayal

·         The art of production design

·         The work of the director: casting, staging, vision

·         The methods of actors

·         Henry IV on film
