Pictures In A Box at Metropolitan Methodist 3401 Nebraska Ave NW
Pictures in a Box facilitator, Erin Brindle, says, "Pictures in a Box is an arts and memory project of Club Memory. Participants meet every first Friday of the month, 10-11:30am, at Metro Methodist.
The Pictures in a Box supports people with a diagnoses of Alzheimer’s/Dementia and their caregiver by creating memory pictures of old photographs with description of sensory memories of the picture in hand. In the 1.5 hour session, participants can be helped to mount their photos and create text to describe the feelings, who, what, where, when, and why of the content of the picture. Several members of Club Memory have created a series of mounted photographic memories. The set of photos can be used as memory cards for both caregivers and participants with a diagnosis. Members and I have looked forward to sharing and remembering family stories, memories of relatives and friends, and creating a community of support."
