Body Awakening with Jeffrey Robbins
Body Awakening focuses on nourishing the chi or energy in the body, thereby building strength and increasing flexibility. These slow, non-impact movements are easy to learn as they improve the respiratory and balance functions of the body, as well as the calming and improving your mental concentration. Movements taught include breathing/meditation (Qi Gong/Chi Kung), stretching and strengthening movements (Myung Sang), and an introduction to Tai Chi. In the second half-hour, movements are customized for the individual student’s needs and goals. The exercises in the Body Awakening class are more challenging physically than those in Tai Chi and Qigong.
