Labor & Delivery - Labor and Delivery

Having a Baby

Whether this is your first baby or you are experienced parents, the addition of a new baby to your family is a very exciting event. We are here to help make the birth of your baby a safe and comfortable experience.
We believe that childbirth should be family centered. Therefore, our approach is to include the entire family together with siblings in a way that promotes family bonding.
All aspects of your care are addressed from birth preparation to labor and delivery to newborn care and making the most of the joys that lie ahead.

Labor & Delivery at Sibley

Our birthing rooms combine a comfortable environment with advanced medical technology. You may labor, give birth and recover in one location where everything is designed to help you feel at ease. Amenities in each room include a birthing bed, rocking and gliding chairs, telephone, television, blanket warmer, full size day bed for your partner, television and a shower with water massage.
Our dedicated nurses work alongside your physician to help you stay comfortable and give you expert guidance and support. Sibley offers state-of-the-art delivery rooms equipped for complicated deliveries, three fully equipped operating rooms ready and able to accommodate multiple birth deliveries at any time, and two triage rooms.  A full range of pain relief measures is available, including epidural anesthesia administered by board-certified anesthesiologists who are specifically assigned to Labor and Delivery 24-hours a day.
A Neonatal Assessment Nurse (NAN) will come directly to your birthing room within the first hours of birth to perform a complete initial assessment as well as give your baby its first bath so you and your baby are never separated.
