Rita Driggers, M.D., FACOG

Dr. Driggers is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine. She served in the U.S. Navy for 14 years when she was recruited to become the program director of the Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Georgetown University School of Medicine. She has been involved in American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) activities at the section, district and national levels. She recently completed her service as a member of the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) Education Committee and is currently an American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ABOG) general oral board examiner.

Dr. Timofeev is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is an active candidate for board certification in maternal-fetal medicine. During her fellowship, she researched pre-term birth and prematurity, delayed umbilical cord clamping and effects of maternal age on pregnancy outcomes. Dr. Timofeev has been recognized by fellow colleagues and residents for teaching efforts, being selected the Fellow of the Year in 2011-2012. She is a member of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM), and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AUIM).

Val Kantor, MGC, CGC
Bachelor’s Degree: Pennsylvania State University
Master’s Degree: University of Maryland, Baltimore
Val Kantor has her Master’s in Genetic Counseling, and has received her certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling. During her graduate school training, Val took an interest in prenatal genetics, using a number of her rotations and internships to work in high-risk obstetric clinics. Since graduating, Val has worked as the sole genetic counselor at two Maternal Fetal Medicine centers prior to joining the Maternal Fetal Medicine Program at Sibley Memorial Hospital. She has taken a special interest in non-invasive prenatal screening and has attended a multitude of meetings and conferences focusing on this subject. Val is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) and the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC).
Laurie L. King, B.A., RDMS
Chief obstetric sonographer
Bachelor’s Degree: University of Maryland College Park
Ultrasound training: Montgomery College
Laurie has 14 years of experience with sonography and is board certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Her passion is obstetric sonography and she has been performing ultrasounds on high risk obstetrics patients for over 10 years. She is a member of The American Institute of Medicine (AIUM) and serves as a reviewer of sites wishing to become AIUM accredited.
Beverly Suero, R.N., MSN
Maternal Fetal Medicine Nurse
Beverly received Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Columbia Union College and Masters of Science in Nursing from Howard University. She has been part of Sibley since 1998 and bring 17 years of Labor & Delivery experience.
Juanita Alford, R.N.
Maternal Fetal Medicine Nurse, Diabetes Educator
Nita Alford has over 10 years of nursing experience. She graduated from Riverside School of Professional Nursing in 2003. She began her nursing career on a Cardiac Critical Care unit in Newport News, Virginia where she worked for three years. In 2006 she transferred to a Labor and Delivery unit in Scottsdale, AZ. Since then she has worked in various Labor and Delivery units from Arizona to Virginia, Maryland and D.C.
Lead Patient Services Coordinator
Renee comes to us from the Labor and Delivery unit at Sibley Memoial Hospial where she has been an integral member of Women’s and Infants’ Services at for 14 years. She has excellent organizational and communication skills, and truly believes in the phrase, "patient first".
