Move, Learn, Create: A Dance Class
Move, Learn, Create: A Dance Class by Margot Greenlee says, "The focus of this class is aesthetic." "We experience a class like any dance student would. We learn techniques and how to move spontaneously through improvisational exercises, and then we compose short dances together." This strong creative component, she explains, makes the classes different from fitness or physical therapy sessions, which typically use a follow-the-leader model. In this class participants get to do a lot of their own decision-making, and they aren’t pressured to keep up with everyone else. "I want everybody to listen to what their body is interested in doing today versus forcing themselves," Margot says.
Class meets Wednesdays, 11 a.m. - noon, Sibley Renaissance Building, Conference Room 2. $120 for the 10-week session.
