Sibley Renaissance Named in “Best Nursing Homes 2014” by US News & World Report
March 10, 2014
Sibley Memorial Hospital’s Renaissance Skilled Nursing Facility was named in the US News & World Report’s Best Nursing Homes of 2014. The rating covers nearly 16,000 nursing homes nationwide.
US News & World Report gathered data from Nursing Home Compare, a program run by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), to compile the Best Nursing Homes of 2014. The designation of "Best Nursing Homes" was awarded to those facilities that recently earned CMS’ highest overall rating of five stars.
Sibley earned five stars, the highest obtainable, in overall quality, quality measures, staffing and registered nurse staffing for the second and third quarters of 2013. Earning this rating indicates that the Renaissance has fulfilled staffing levels based on resident needs and achieved high quality for both physical and clinical quality measures. Only 25 percent of nursing homes have reached the top five-star rating.
The 45-bed Renaissance unit is an interdisciplinary rehabilitation program that provides individualized care to help residents become more independent. The mission is to provide safe, quality nursing care to the post-operative, orthopedic and geriatric individuals; respond to their needs in a timely manner and address concerns of the family.
