July 2, 2014
Sibley Memorial Hospital has been recognized by the Washington D.C. Department of Health for having the highest number of births among hospitals in the city for 2013. Sibley delivered 3,451 babies last year.
"I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude for the trust in our institution exhibited by our patients, physicians and staff," said Mark Reiter, M.D., chairman, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Sibley Memorial Hospital. "We render an exceptional level of patient care in no small part due to 24/7 coverage by the Obstetrical House staff, Neonatology and Anesthesia teams. While it is nice to be recognized for the highest number of births in D.C., we will continue to strive for improvement in both patient quality and safety."
