Sibley Memorial Hospital Pharmacy’s Practice Residency Program is committed to developing competent and confident pharmacists who have the clinical knowledge and technical skills that are important to acute care pharmacy practice. Graduates of the program will be accountable and responsible for achieving optimal and safe medication therapy as part of a multidisciplinary health care team. They will demonstrate the use of excellent verbal and written communication skills that effectively educate other health care practitioners, students, patients and members of the community about drug therapy. They will become strong leaders who commit to the advancement of the profession of pharmacy.

In the Pharmacy Practice Residency at Sibley Hospital, residents will have the opportunity to participate in clinical, management, and distributive pharmacy services. The program provides flexibility for the residents to focus on individual interests and career goals.

Experiences include internal medicine, drug information, practice management, critical care, geriatrics, oncology, and nutrition. Residents also participate in the medication use evaluation process, precept PharmD students, and provide continuing education programs. An original project, worthy of publication, is required.

Residents are eligible for full benefits including health and dental coverage and accrual of paid time off/paid days leave. A travel allowance will be provided to attend ASHP Midyear and selected meetings.
