Sibley Memorial Hospital operates a Level II Emergency Department that is open 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. It is staffed with highly qualified, compassionate and dedicated physicians, nurses, physician assistants, clinical associates and support personnel whose primary goal is to ensure superb care in an expeditious manner. The Department and staff are prepared to care for any type of illness or injury, from pediatric to geriatric, from a patient with a sore throat to one having a myocardial infraction.

Our newly built department has 13 private rooms with the capability to expand, based on patient census: and is equipped to handle any manner of patient. We have access to all specialty evaluation tools and experts to ensure a quick and accurate diagnosis and disposition. Although we are expected to see over 24 thousand patients this year, we feel confident the facility and staff are capable of caring for many more.

This department proudly claims part of the credit for the facility's recent successful experience with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations inspection. The hospital scored a 92 and received a 3-year reaccreditation. The patients who have used our department for their acute care have given us a ringing endorsement via Gallup surveys that showed Sibley's Emergency Department above best hospital average in every attribute measured.
