Insurance & Financial Considerations
Sibley participates with most insurance plans. Generally, pre-operative certification or authorization is required. Check with your insurance company to determine what you need to do to ensure that your procedure will be covered to the fullest extent possible. We will assist you with any pre-certification at the time of registration.
Most insurance plans do not cover cosmetic procedures. To keep costs as low as possible, Sibley has developed package pricing. Your surgeon will estimate the cost of your surgery and provide you with The Surgery Center's cosmetic surgery pricing.
Two payments must be made prior to the surgical procedure.
Payment to Sibley Memorial Hospital
Payment is due on the day of surgery with a credit card reservation or check in the amount of the estimated operating room time charge. If an overnight stay is planned, that amount is also due. No cash will be accepted. If paying by check, a credit card must also be provided. The credit card will be used to cover any adjustments or credits to the patient's account. Questions? Please call The Surgery Center at (202) 364-7632.
Payment to Surgical Anesthesia Associates
Payment may be made on the day of surgery with a credit card (VISA, MC or Amex). If you prefer to pay with a money order or cashier's check, please make arrangements prior to the day of surgery by calling (202) 537-4141. The check will be made in the amount of the estimated anesthesia time charge. Neither cash nor personal checks will be accepted. If paying by cashier's check or money order, a credit card must also be provided. The credit card will be used to cover any adjustments or credits to the patient's account.
Adjustments may be made for operating room time and anesthesia fees that exceed the period scheduled and paid in advance. Adjustments may also be applied to any additional tests requested during the procedure or special supplies required.
A statement will be mailed promptly reflecting any changes to your bill.
