About the Team:
Lauren K. Dickstein, Au.D., CCC/A, is the Senior Audiologist and Newborn Hearing Screening Program Supervisor at Sibley Memorial Hospital. She has been serving the community since 2002 and has been employed by Sibley since 2005. Dr. Dickstein received both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Audiology at the University of Maryland, College Park, and later went on to earn her Doctor of Audiology degree from A.T. Still University, Arizona School of Health Sciences. She believes in empowering her patients to be their own advocates and helping them to achieve their communication goals. Dr. Dickstein is licensed in the District of Columbia and certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
Mary Ann Dworak, M.A., CCC/A, is a Clinical Audiologist at Sibley Memorial Hospital. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped from S.U.N.Y. College at Fredonia, followed by a Master of Arts degree in Audiology from the University at Buffalo. She has been providing audiology services in both medical and educational settings since 1993. Her desire to improve the quality of life by reducing hearing handicap has led to her particular interest in hearing aid technology, assistive listening devices, and aural rehabilitation. Mary Ann is licensed in the District of Columbia and Maryland. She is also a certified member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA).
Daniel Weinstein, M.S., CCC/SLP, is the Senior Speech-Language Pathologist at Sibley Memorial Hospital. He obtained a Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology from Teachers College, Columbia University, and completed a clinical fellowship at The George Washington University Hospital. Daniel specializes in voice, swallowing, and head and neck cancer rehabilitation, and performs modified barium swallow studies (MBS) and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluations of swallowing (FEES) for both inpatients and outpatients at Sibley. He is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, is a member of the Special Interest Group in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders, and is a certified LSVT LOUD clinician.
Maura Collins, M.S., CCC/SLP, recently completed her Clinical Fellowship in February 2012 with a focus on diagnosis and treatment of acutely ill patients with speech/ language and swallowing impairments. She primarily works as the Inpatient Speech-Language Pathologist at Sibley Memorial Hospital. Maura received her Master’s Degree in Speech- Language Pathology from Loyola University, Maryland. Her professional interests include diagnosis and treatment of adult speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders with a particular interest in traumatic brain injury, stroke and Parkinson’s disease. She is Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT ) certified.
Charnea Loving is the receptionist for Washington Hearing & Seech. She has been a proud and loyal employee of Sibley Memorial Hospital since 1983. She is certified through the Council for Accreditation of Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC). In addition to her role as receptionist, she has provided adult and infant hearing screenings for the public.
